LGT Directors

Su Lindsey - LGT Head Judge & Main Organiser

Hello! My name is Su Lindsey. I’m the proud owner of Cherry Vanilla Hair Boutique, that has been successfully trading since October 2009. I am a true Lichfieldian, born in the maternity unit of St Michael’s Hospital, which is where Lichfield’s Samuel Johnson community hospital now stands.

I have been fundraising for various causes from my early twenties, I’ve lost count how much in total I’ve raised for various charities, but know it’s well over £100,000.

I have been married for 32 years to Dave, who is my right hand man in my life and LGT committee.

Since owning Cherry Vanilla Hair Boutique I have held yearly fundraising events for various charities, the most recent was LGT 2015 raising funds of nearly £10,000 for three charities, Live Life Give Life, Teenage Cancer Trust, Lichfield Arts and Little Mia Parnell, Mia is a very poorly little girl who wished she could go back to Lanzarote for a holiday with her Mum Sister & Brother.

LGT were able to grant her that wish and paid for Mia and her family to fly to Lanzarote just after LGT finals last March 2015

I have three grown up children, and two gorgeous grandchildren. My two sons are both very musical and play in a local band. My daughter Hayley and daughter-in-law Sally are both part of the LGT committee and support me 100%

Whilst at school, and later I took part in musical productions, joining Lichfield Operatics and Pantomime productions.

My main hobby is my grandchildren, but I love to take myself off on wildlife treks around the world to photograph all the wildlife.

My working background was initially in the record industry, where I was a manager in a record store. From there I went to work at Island records for 15 years, where I did band support, tour support, radio plugging & sales for acts such as – Robert PalmerBryan AdamsStevie WinwoodU2 and Aswad.

Three years ago I did some consultancy work for Ocean Colour Scene, helping out with their festival tours. Also giving advice on their social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter.

My interests that are close to my heart include:

  • Doing charity work – I helped at a homeless shelter on Christmas day last year which I thoroughly enjoyed giving joy to people on such an important day. I also was a part of Stephen Sutton’s Cancer Teenage Trust Ball last summer.
  • Music – seeing bands live and enjoying listening to music (preferably  loud!) it’s always been a great passion of mine and a huge part of my life.

I am genuinely looking forward to being a judge on this year’s Lichfield’s Got Talent, as I can give my views and expertise on the up and coming acts. It’ll be lovely to see a variety of performers – the more the better!

Helen Doyle

Hi, I’m Helen Doyle, Managing Director of Perfect Weddings Abroad, a Lichfield based company. During the last 10 years we have arranged more than 1000 overseas weddings. I’m really proud that Perfect Weddings Abroad has been able to sponsor this year’s Lichfield’s Got Talent.

I am married with two teenage boys who are both talented musicians. Harry (14) plays drums and Sam (16) plays guitar and sings. Sam entered Lichfield’s Got Talent 2014 and made it through to the finals. It was the first time that he had taken part in a talent competition and the whole experience has given him huge confidence and the encouragement to develop his performance skills. Taking part was a great opportunity for Sam and I’d urge anyone who is talented to come along and audition.

Whilst Sam was taking part in the competition I realised the huge amount of work that the committee members had to put in to make the event a success and really wanted to get involved in 2015. Being able to support local charities and to offer my time and support to this fantastic charity event is very exciting and I’m looking forward to being involved.

Hayley Guy

Hi I’m Hayley. I’m new to the Lgt team this year, and thought this was the ideal opportunity for me to get involved in something I love, which is combining charity work with my love of music and arts.

In recent years I have organised charity events raising funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

I have recently changed career and work for my lovely best friend at Sew Chic by Helen in lichfield, after being a nursery nurse for over 15 years.

My passions in life are travel, live music and family, and most often get to combine all three.

I share my home with my hubby Andy of six years and my four lovely feline friends.

I am really looking forward to being involved with Lichfield’s Got Talent 2016 and can’t wait to meet you all – good luck!
